A cart,a pot,an a amazing cook,and a empty stomach....

These are words that come to mind, and are seen when coming upon a street food cart, stand, trailer etc. Be it jerk chicken in a small town in Jamaica, Wampee in some alley in China, Shawarma in Cairo, or Poutine served out of a trailer. It's cheap, prepared in front of you, fresh, fast, and a one man or woman operation done usually seven days a week. Lines, packed stalls, slurping, disposable plates, minimal conversation is usually whats going on from dawn till dusk.Yes there are some places across the globe, where proper hygiene and food safety is an issue, but thats doesn't mean one should not eat street food! Besides, outside the home, the second best thing when it comes to food, is on the street, well prepared and very, very delicious! In history this has been a vital source of employment for women as well as up and coming entrepreneurs who would someday open an establishment of their own, but don't have the green to get it going, so this is the second best thing, which is hopefully my future plan my friends and is not a bad way of making a good living as long as you make great food, the people will come. Living here in America, fast food has been defined as, Macdonalds, BK, KFC, etc. until of late. While NY and other cities along the east coast are making a name for themselves for street food, other cities such as LA, Portland, Seattle, are really making some noise. Be it Maximus/Minimus serving up delicious pork sandwiches and veggie sandwiches with it's pig like "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" truck or the famous yet popular "Skillet" serving burgers and "Poutine" (crispy french fries topped with gravy and cheese curds) in a converted airstream trailer. Great food, great people, and a hot concept that is finally becoming a soon to be staple.

So my plan my hungry chaps is to take you with me on a trip thru europe and see what the locals are eating, when on the run,to a game, or on the late night. So all i can tell you is this;" better be hungry"!
