The reggae scene here is blooming and blooming quite fast. With ska, dancehall, calypso, bands popping up everywhere as well as a few other veteran bands that have been around a while such as "Babylove".But the scene has erupted lately because of the late Danish rapper reggae singer/vocalist "Natasja".Born October 31st 1974, daughter of a Danish photographer(mother) and Sudanese father, started singing and djing at the age of thirteen in Copenhagen. She also performed alongside Queen Latifah and began gaining popularity in Jamaica. She originally wanted to become a professional jockey, but her career was cut short due to an accident falling off her horse. After that she kept pursuing her singing career and soon releasing three albums one which is in Danish and the island speaking language "patwa".On June 24th 2007,while in Spanish Town,Saint Catherine,Jamaica, her and a couple of her friends got into a car accident. They were rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was a huge influence in Denmark causing a positive stir and a booming reggae scene.Even though they are coming on three years since her death her name still lingers and hangs on walls, posters, voices and radio stations.Be sure to pickup her music, with clean delivery, positive lyrics, and a great production she will definitely missed.
